Experiencing a Loved one in Pain
What happens for me is I begin to feel a deep weight in my belly and the sensation of a low sound. It will then grow louder with a higher tone. The weight begins to have a fluttering sensation. Then it becomes more of an overall frantic feeling - jittery, hyper alert, shallow breathing and a need to move. The weight moves to my throat.
Did you watch the movie Terms of Endearment? There is a scene in the hospital when Shirley MacLain goes ballistic.
I totally get it. That is the most accurate portrayal I have seen.
Some of my sensitivity comes from being an empath, some from early childhood trauma, much from hospice exposure, and some from trying to manage my PTSD.
This connection is a blessing and a curse.
